New AI Tools 2026: The Latest AI Websites and Apps, Updated Weekly

Selection Process for New AI Tools

We receive hundreds of AI tool submissions each week. Our team verifies that each tool performs its core function. We also evaluate each tool’s pricing to ensure it aligns with the tool’s website. A tool only receives a permanent listing on this page if it provides features and functionality that are not available in competing tools. Our goal is to build a collection of high quality AI tools that boost productivity and provide value. We also review fresh tools and emerging AI tools as part of the selection process. Our team also evaluates new AI tools that offer useful features and functionality. We continue reviewing new AI tools as they become available.

New AI Tools for Writing and Productivity

The most recent releases this month were in the writing and productivity categories. Each month new AI assistants are born. We have focused on improving context windows, reasoning, and writing and editing completion tasks. The focus on writing has created a multitude of similar products, so we opted not to include those in this report. Included are tools focused on research, document analysis, and improving email writing, to name a few. Some newly launched AI apps may also enter this category as they become available. These new AI tools can offer new approaches to writing, research, and productivity. We also review new AI tools as they become available and meet relevant criteria.

New AI Photo and Video Generation

The best new releases this month have been in photo and video generation AIs. Recent advances in video AIs have allowed for video generation and editing. Photo AIs have reached a level of realism that makes generated faces and images indistinguishable from the real world. The advances have allowed for the generation of previously impossible scenarios, like a walking video game character. The generation of realistic, convincing images has opened new avenues for content creation. New releases in this category are focused on content creation and production. Because of this focus, and because the public is composed primarily of content creators, our team focused on new releases that provided a robust, usable, free-to-the-public content creation tool. These trending AI tools can include hot new AI releases in photo and video generation. These new AI tools 2026 can support content creation and production with new approaches. Our team also reviews new AI tools 2026 as part of the latest releases in this category.

Recent Advances in AI for Software Development

The development of new AI tools for software development moves at a faster pace than other areas of AI. In the last two years, releases of AI programming assistants have increased at a rapid pace. Many of the features that were once considered futuristic, such as AI assistants that are capable of debugging, multi-document reasoning, and integrating with computer terminals, are now commonplace. These advances are reflected in the latest AI tools for software development.

We monitor the development of these tools and assess their potential for use by software developers. We evaluate hundreds of tools and publish only those that meet our criteria. These tools must provide developer documentation and offer a free version that allows developers to evaluate the tools for use in production. Some tools may also be available through early access before their wider release. These include some of the latest AI tools for software development.

Our List is Better than Automated Lists

Most media outlets that cover new AI tools do not perform their own due diligence. Instead, they repost rankings from ProductHunt or other RSS feeds. As a result, their lists are filled with broken, exploitative, and deceptive tools. We verify each tool on our list and evaluate it based on pricing, security, and potential use by software developers. Additionally, we remove tools from our list if the developers discontinue support. Therefore, our list will always be up to date. Our list also covers some of the new AI websites available for software developers.
